A safe place to live.
The right support to move forward.
For young people aged 16–21 who can live with a level of independence but still need structured support, guidance or supervision along the way.
A bridge to independence
Supported accommodation gives young people a safe, stable home of their own, alongside the guidance and structure they need to build the skills and confidence for fully independent living. It sits between more dependent care arrangements and independent adult living — a bridge, not a permanent placement, giving young people time, space and support to get ready for a tenancy of their own, at their own pace.
Homes that feel like homes
Comfortable, safe and genuinely homely — never institutional. Young people are encouraged to make their room their own: personal belongings, photographs and suitable decorations are welcome.
Fully furnished
Homes are furnished and ready to move into, with everyday essentials in place.
Single & shared options
Private bedrooms, shared kitchens and communal areas where applicable.
Sole occupancy where suitable
Available where appropriate, matched through individual assessment.
Safe & well maintained
Properties are kept safe, clean and in good working order.
Connected locations
Where possible, close to transport, amenities and community facilities.
Built for independence
Everyday routines and responsibilities that prepare young people for their own tenancy.
Not every accommodation type is available at every location. Current options are confirmed at referral and assessment stage.
Every placement starts with a proper assessment
Before any placement is agreed, we consider each young person's circumstances, strengths, support needs, risks, goals, and compatibility with the home and other residents.
Not every referral will be accepted. Placements only go ahead when we can safely and appropriately meet a young person's needs.
Built with the young person, not just for them
Support plans are developed together with the young person and relevant professionals. They are person-centred, outcome-focused, based on achievable goals, and adapted as progress is made.
Goals may cover:
- Education & employment
- Money & budgeting
- Independent living skills
- Health & wellbeing
- Relationships & community
- Move-on planning
Support matched to what each young person needs
The level of support provided depends on the individual assessment and what is agreed in the placement agreement. Possible arrangements may include:
Key-work sessions & welfare checks
On-site or on-call staff support
Overnight, sleep-in or waking-night support
Appointment support
Emergency assistance
24-hour staffing, where in place
Safety is never an afterthought
Safer recruitment
Robust background checks and safeguarding training for all staff.
Risk & safety planning
Individual risk assessments and safety plans, kept under review.
Exploitation awareness
Awareness of exploitation, county lines and online safety risks.
Missing-from-home procedures
Clear procedures if a young person goes missing.
Information sharing
Appropriate, timely information sharing with other agencies.
Multi-agency working
Working alongside social workers, police and other partners as needed.
Clear, collaborative and accountable
We aim to work closely with social workers, local authorities, commissioners, leaving-care teams and personal advisers, providing clear communication, progress updates and prompt reporting of any significant concerns.
- Regular placement reviews
- Collaborative risk management
- Transparent placement information
- Planned, considered transitions
- Multi-agency working
A relationship built on respect, both ways
Every young person has the right to:
- Be treated with dignity and feel safe
- Have privacy
- Be listened to and participate in decisions
- Make a complaint and access advocacy
- Receive clear information
- Protection from discrimination
In turn, we ask young people to:
- Treat others respectfully
- Look after their accommodation
- Follow reasonable safety arrangements
- Attend agreed meetings and engage with support
- Respect neighbours, report concerns and repairs
